CHAIRING MEETING AT BOURNEMOUTH UNIVERSITY

Bournemouth West M.P., Sir John Butterfill, chaired a meeting on Friday 21st July at Bournemouth University Talbot Campus to try and resolve the issue of student car parking in residential streets in the Talbot village and Winton areas.

The meeting was attended by representatives of both Bournemouth and Poole Council, local residents’ associations, Students Union and the Arts Institute, together with the Vice Chancellor of the University.

The Bournemouth and Poole Councils are now looking at the possibility of a residents’ parking scheme and discussing the matter with local residents.

Bournemouth University has offered to fund the initial cost of any such scheme up to a maximum of £35,000.
