BRITISH TOURISM WEEK 2008

• John Butterfill pledged his support on Wednesday 12th March, for the second annual British Tourism Week from the 10th/18th March. 
• He signed a special pledge card at the House of Commons to demonstrate his support for Britain’s fifth largest industry, for tourism in Bournemouth and for the people who depend on it for their jobs and livelihoods.   He said “I hope that this will help to highlight the appeals of heritage sites and historic buildings, of exploring our countryside and taking a break in our town for shopping and recreation.”
• John also attended a meeting on Wednesday of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Tourism, of which he is an active member.  The speaker at the meeting was Christopher Rodrigues, CBE, Chairman of VisitBritain.
