I have been very proud to represent the parliamentary constituency of Bournemouth West since 1983, having been re-elected five times.

It is a great privilege for me to work as your Member of Parliament.  Although much of my time during the week has to be spent at the House of Commons in Westminster, I am nearly always in Bournemouth on Fridays and at the weekends.

I believe that Bournemouth is a wonderful place to live.  We have first rate facilities, excellent hotels and shops and beautiful parks and beaches.  I count myself as extremely fortunate to be able to represent such an attractive constituency.

My particular interests in Parliament are pensions and tourism, both of which are big issues in Bournemouth.  I am particularly keen to promote local charities and to give support to the more vulnerable in our society, such as the elderly and the disabled.

I hope to have the honour of serving Bournemouth West as your Member of Parliament for many more years.
